On the 5th October 2012 at the SELECT awards night in Glasgow AKD were announced joint winners of the "Best Promotion of Certification". As Scottish Building Standards Approved Certifiers we are naturally very passionate about the need for certification of electrical installations and alterations. Last year AKD were nominated and shortlisted in three Categories at the SELECT Electrotechnical awards 2011.

Despite AKD not being announced as winners we take great pride in getting to the shortlist stage in all three categories and thoroughly enjoyed our brief moment on stage to collect our "Finalists" certificates.

This year we are even more delighted (if that's possible) to confirm that we have again been shortlisted in two Categories.

In the outcome of a recent inquest into the death of young mother at home, the cause of death was determined to be electrocution and the verdict of the jury was unlawful killing. Evidence given at the inquest indicated that the electrical installation in the premises had not been subjected to the necessary inspection and testing procedures to verify that it was safe before being put into service.

It’s that time again!

Following AKD’s reasonably successful entry into the 2011 SELECT Electrotechnical Awards where AKD were delighted to be shortlisted for two awards at the Best Small Contractor and Best Environmental Project. Although eventual runners up the recognition of being in the final three companies for two out of some seven awards was a very proud occasion. We look forward to 2012 with enthusiasm.
